I support Cathy Hirt for mayor. I have observed her working directly with at-risk students when she was involved in the Mediators Achieving Peace program. This project consists of teaching students to become facilitators in their middle schools. She taught active listening, diplomacy, tact and compromise. Cathy can bring these skills to the mayor's office.

Former Fort Worth City Council member Cathy Hirt formally announced her intention to re-enter elective politics on Thursday. Hirt, who served on the council from 1996-99, said she will run for mayor of Fort Worth and host a campaign kickoff at 1 p.m. Sunday at the La Mancha Business Center on West Berry.
